Tour Guide & Museum Staff

The Salem Witch Museum is Interviewing for our Tour Guide/General Staff Position:

JOB OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, customer-oriented people for part-time and full-time staff/Tour Guide positions.

Are you a people person? Do you like history? Are you a pro at public speaking and working with the public?

This Salem Witch Museum position is entry level, and your work experience will include shifts in admissions, the museum store, stockroom and guiding tours of our exhibit, "Witches: Evolving Perceptions" as well as preparing the museum for visitation with a variety of cleaning duties.

We are looking for employees interested in working in a fast paced environment and who are able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings (on a seasonal basis - October and Summer), weekends, and holidays. Are you a stay at home parent who wants to work while your child is in school or a retiree who just wants to pick up a few shifts to get out of the house and meet people from around the world? Are you a college student looking for a summer job who may want a lighter schedule when classes resume in the fall & winter sessions? If so this could be perfect for you!

Qualified candidates should possess exceptional customer service skills, be able to stand for long periods of time, have great communication, time management and computer skills and be interested in the history of the 1692 witchcraft trials. Applicant should live in or nearby the Salem area.

Previous retail sales experience a must. Some of the many duties of the day include but are not limited to: ticket and museum store sales, crowd control, greeting visitors and providing information on the museum and Salem. Additional duties include pricing merchandise, bi-yearly inventory, shipping, carrying boxes of up to 30 pounds, stocking shelves, brochure racks and the museum store, cleaning the museum: vacuuming, sweeping, bathrooms, trash, recycling and all high touch surfaces.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
