THE OPPORTUNITY
Conduct field investigations to assist in validating legitimate claims and identifying suspect claims in the worker's compensation, liability, personal injury, and property lines of business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Works with all departments for opportunities to assist with analytics, records review, social media, and data base searches.
- Completes a detailed, professional report of research and findings.
- Conducts on-site surveillance and activities checks for small to high complexity exposures in all lines of business (worker's compensation, liability, and property claims)
- Conducts surveillance of assigned subjects using digital video cameras and other related surveillance equipment
- Documents activities observed or recorded in a detailed, professional investigative report.
- Makes recommendations for further investigation, as appropriate, on evidence of possible fraud to assist claims and other department staff in their decisions-making on whether to accept, deny or settle a claim or refuse a request for policy issuance or modification.
- Conducts special investigations, including recorded statements, interviews, scene investigations/photos and interacting with law enforcement and other governmental agencies to secure and retrieve evidence.
- Assists in developing and training office personnel on fraud awareness.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- At minimum an associate degree with a bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years of SIU experience in the general liability, personal injury, worker's compensation, and property casualty areas.
- 1-3 years of claims industry, law enforcement and/or fraudulent claims surveillance experience.

- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain flexible regarding workload, schedule, and assignments (occasional off hours or weekend assignments).
