About us
I am the Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Jane Doe Investigations. Inc. (JDI) JDI has proudly been certified as woman owned business. I have 28 years of law enforcement (LE) experience working road patrol, Investigations, training and emergency prepardness. My team of experienced investigators have a combination of law enforcement, military and insurance experience, most senior investigators have over 25 years of LE. experience, most as command offivers. Jane Doe Investigations specializes in investigations in the Insurance Claims (fraud & assigned claims), and the Worker's Compensation Industry. Additionally, we do handle Criminal and Civil Investigations, Domestics, Cold Cases, Accident Reconstruction, Missing Persons, Corporate Investigations, Executive Protection, Background Investigations, Financial Investigations, Criminal Defense, Wrongful Convictions, Elder Abuse investigations, Indigent Defense Investigations, Cellular Forensics, GPS tracking and Process Service. Jane Doe also has an experienced team of K-9 handlers that are experts in narcotics and explosive detection.
Job Description & Essential Functions:
A successful candidate will have a minimum of one year experience as an investigator, or criminal justice degree (currently enrolled or graduated). Candidates should have excellent report writing, technical and verbal communication skills. Investigators must be able to perform stationary and mobile surveillance in a variety of environments, including high crime areas and be comfortable with the use of pretext investigations. Compensation is equal to experience and quality of work product and includes travel pay and mileage reimbursement. Candidates could be required to work weekends, evenings and some holidays. There may be occasions that investigators may have to travel outside of the metro Detroit area on assignments. Most assignments are within 75 miles of the metro Detroit area. Candidates who have the necessary qualifications can be promoted to become assigned claims or SIU investigators.
Investigators may. be required to testify in court.
Qualifications:
- Must have skills to work independently.
- Must be able to write investigative reports.
- Must have computer skills (Microsoft word), Google Sheets.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and the possibility of holidays.
- Must have a working computer & cell phone
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be flexible and willing to learn
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must have or be willing to purchase a camcorder (arrangements can be made to assist).
- CPL is encouraged
Qualifications:
* Provides professional, expedient, and legal investigative services as requested by clients.
* Performs case reviews to determine case objective and verifies information regarding address, telephone number and vehicles of subjects.
* Conducts surveillance of both stationary and mobile subjects in a covert manner.
* Proactively and covertly attempt to develop and gather new information pertaining to the subject of the investigation through public database searched and/or neighborhood canvasses where it does not violate specific client rules and instructions or State and/or Federal Laws.
* Obtains professional, quality video utilizing covert techniques, such hidden cameras and photographs, which will meet the requirements of clients and guidelines of court evidence.
* Write concise and accurate reports depicting all aspects of the progression of an investigation. E-mail reports to office for review.
* Completes case objective within budgetary constraints.
* Maintains daily contact with management regarding case activity.
* Maintains professional attitude and appearance when representing the company to clients, court personnel, and others during work related interaction.
* Timely submission of all investigative materials such as reports and videotapes.
