The rundown:
As a Site Reliability Engineer you’ll be working on production systems that are utilized to deliver Volusion’s platform functionality to customers. When these systems fail, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to quickly restore services, investigate root cause, and develop a plan that mitigates future failures. You’ll also allocate time to analyzing system performance and identifying ways to make our platform even more resilient.
You will:
- Proactively improve Volusion systems stability
- Monitor all systems through various tools and applications; use automation to streamline monitoring as needed
- Provide real time support of critical service disruptions and facilitate the restoration of services
- Provide resolutions for escalated Volusion Software Issues
- Investigate and report operations issues; escalate issues as needed to other Operations and Engineering team members to ensure that all systems are available and working properly
- Write monitoring tests and integration tests for Volusion Software
- Use of the ticket system to organize work requests
- Develop detailed documentation of our knowledge base, best practices, and procedures
- Proactively and independently work on projects as needed
- Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and blameless retrospectives with the goal of discovering the best approach to prevent future occurrences of the same issue
- Support and test incremental software builds to deliver new platform features
- Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack
- Manage Product releases and ensure they are done successfully
- Manage Server Patching and general server housekeeping
Technologies supported in this high availability; 24/7 environment include:
- Google Cloud Platform

- Spotlight / FogLight
- Microsoft IIS
- Experience with Network Engineering or some type of exposure to network troubleshooting
- Familiarity with:
- DNS
- Windows and Linux systems
- IIS
- GCP
