Title: Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Engineer

Schedule: 9/80 Schedule; every other Friday off

Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering services to ensure the safe and reliable management of SIS at the Lemont refinery.
- Assist Maintenance department with troubleshooting, documentation updates, and critical work reviews.
- Plan and track completion of SIS testing according to defined intervals.
- Participate in investigations and reviews of SIS events.
- Track and analyze SIS reliability through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Lead and participate in Functional Safety Assessments (FSAs) and audits.
- Update and maintain SIS documentation, including Safety Requirements Specification (SRS).
- Engineer small expense-ruled SIS efforts and author Engineering Work Requests (EWRs).
- Develop, review, approve, and update proof test procedures for installed SIS.
- Actively participate in Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPAs) and provide technical support to capital project engineers.
- Aid turnaround planners in developing SIS scope and ensuring test procedure readiness.
- Select replacement instrumentation and valves when necessary and perform Management of Change (MOC) for SIS modifications.
- Review validation test procedures for new or modified SIS installations.
- Work with Process Controls to ensure SIS application programs meet requirements.
