Responsible for daily operations of a commercial aggregate quarry, including safety, quality control, plant operations and supervision of employees.
Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
Effectively manage daily operations to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory, production, efficiency and equipment maintenance targets are met
Ensure continual compliance with MSHA and EPA regulations
Maintain effective relationships and work with customers, suppliers, local communities, local, state and federal governments, and Company business groups
Manage the activities of quarry, production crews to meet established business and production objectives
Respond quickly to customer needs
Assist with review and analysis of production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to resolve causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems
Assist with revision of production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operation issues
Assists with maintenance scheduling, and coordinates maintenance of equipment to keep equipment and facility in top condition to optimize production flow
Perform administrative tasks, including but not limited to e-mail correspondence, timecard entry, handling documents and electronic files, etc.
Train and mentor plant employees to perform at their highest level
Safely operate company vehicles, tooling, and equipment
Complete other related projects/tasks as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree in related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred
MSHA certification or ability to acquire certification required
Valid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required
3+ years of progressive experience with aggregate production processes, including plant/crushing operations
2+ years of experience leading and managing employees preferred
Proven track record of maintaining a safe work culture
Self-directed, results-driven, and highly motivated requiring minimal direct guidance
Computer skill, and ability to use a computer/mobile device, mobile applications, MS Office and similar programs
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively lead and direct the work of others
Ability to read and interpret signage and/or written instructions (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.)
Ability to problem-solve and recommend solutions
Ability to interact professionally with others and clearly communicate information
Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Regularly required to read and understand signage, labels, and written instructions
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Regularly required to stand/work on feet for long periods, and walk across uneven terrain
Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock
Mining environment; regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, airborne particles, fuel/chemicals, loud noise, moving equipment/parts, and vibration
Compensation*: $30.00-$33.00 DOE
*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
