Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Movement of material and finished goods to and from shipping area.
- Preparing product for shipment and loading trucks.
- Coordinate shipping carriers and all shipping/receiving documentation.
- Receiving shipments and unloading trucks.
- Performing inventory transactions into/out of a computer based MRP system.
This is a very detail orientated position and the applicant must have proficient mathematical skills.
Required skills:
Must be computer literate.
Must be detail orientated.
Must have proficient math skills.
Must speak and read the English language proficiently.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be in good physical shape otherwise able to bend, squat, etc. while banding pallets.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Experience required:
Must be proficient in use of a fork truck.
Previous shipping experience is highly desirable.
Summary of job duties:
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming/outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
- Checks information on counts, weights and footage of shipments against bills of lading, orders and other records to verify accuracy.
- Examines incoming shipments. Rejects damaged items, records shortages and communicates with shipper to rectify damages/shortages.
- Examines outgoing shipments for defects and takes photos to document condition/packaging.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Routes items to departments as needed.
- Coordinates product shipments with sales and arranges pick-ups with carriers as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
