SUMMARY
The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for working on a variety of different tasks in a warehouse environment. The individual must be able to adapt to a fast-paced and changing production environment, the ability to access business needs and take quick action to resolve issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Receiving and issuing items correctly in Epicor ERP system and keeping up with all paperwork required.
- Thorough understanding of the business processes and shipment procedures.
- Managing assigned workload and adapt to reprioritization as necessary, with a proven track record of effectively handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Identifying and resolving gaps in the business processes.
- Manage pack warehouse inventory and establish Kanban systems.
- Improve shipping processes to ensure efficiency and effectivity.
- Facilitate shipments utilizing UPS / FedEx / 3rd party logistics software.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices.
- Must comply (or adhere) to the rules and regulations mandated under ISO 9000, AS9100, ITAR and ISO 14001.
- Must be able to communicate and work well with other employees.
- Ability to pass an annual eye exam.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Establish and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES and / or EXPERIENCE
- High School degree or equivalent required; College Degree a plus; certifications a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a production or related environment.
- Experience using a manual pallet jack and a powered pallet lift
- Forklift Certified or ability to obtain Forklift Certification
- Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Previous experience with warehouse software
- Must be able to bend and lift 50-70 pounds
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, common business documents, and industry publications.
- Ability to respond effectively to inquires or complaints from manufacturing personnel. Ability to write reports or procedures; and effectively present information to management, customers, vendors and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferences.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportional to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to work with principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.)
- Experience in multi-functional and product development teams preferred.
- Experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
- Must be an organized self-starter with good reasoning skills.
- Must be able to work under general supervision and take direction.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk; sit, talk and hear, stand, use hands; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. Physical requirements are the ability to lift up to 25 pounds continuously, 50 pounds occasionally, or up to 100 pounds, with assistance.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Must possess basic personal computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, to include Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and Microsoft Outlook.
