Shipping Clerk - Forklift Operator (1St Shift)

Job Overview:
The Shipping Clerk/Forklift Operator will provide logistical support for the Shipping and Receiving management process This position will be focused specifically on the Shipping side of this process.This is an on-site hourly position. Additional work hours will be assigned during peak times and year-end.
RectorSeal manufactures and distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. Work Schedule:

• Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
• Hours: 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM
• Off Saturday & Sunday, Scheduled Saturdays as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all company-established rules and policies; adhere to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations
• Work, safely, quickly, and efficiently to handle stock in various functions throughout the building
• Assist in daily shipping operations
• Process, pack, and ship orders accurately
• Inspect product for any damage, and file reports as needed
• Assist with parcel shipping or other shipping functions when time permits
• Maintain and upkeep equipment
• Maintain a neat and clean working space
• Interface with management to ensure key objectives are realized
• Engage in problem-solving and support continuous improvement
• Keep a spirit of learning and a desire to grow as a team member
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment
• Work overtime as business needs require
• Complete DOT-required training annually
• Perform other related duties as directed

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma/Equivalent or 1 year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment in lieu of education
• Basic computer skills to function in the job role
• Basic math skills to function in the role include adding, subtract, multiply, and divide

• Able to work 8 -12-hour shifts standing
• Available to work any shift and overtime as needed

Skills and Competencies:

• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Able to keep up in a fast-paced environment

• Able to operate and maintain equipment in alignment with safety standards
• Able to read Material Safety Data Sheets as well as raw material and finished goods container labels
• High-quality standards and degree of accuracy and organizational skills
• Solid work history that demonstrates reliability and ability to thrive in a team environment
• Able to understand, take ownership, and ensure the follow-through of directives as planned
• Adaptable and easily adjusts to changing work conditions and responsibilities with a positive attitude

• Able to operate a forklift, reach truck, and scissor lift

Preferred Experience:

• Certification in the operation of a forklift truck
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Prior experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems
• Experience handling the movement and storage of hazardous chemicals

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation:
RectorSeal has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The target salary range for this non-exempt opportunity is $19/hour - $21/hour plus annual bonus incentives.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the CSWI Board of Directors.
