We currently are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of shipments, handling day-to-day logistics, and contributing to our continuous improvement initiatives. Position: Shipping Clerk
Pay: Hourly / $24.00+ based on experienced
Location: 6 Ingersoll Road, South Plainfield, NJ
Hours: 8:00AM - 4:30PM / Monday - Friday (Weekend and Overtime as business requires)
Responsibilities:
1. Organizational Development
- Achieve 'meets or exceeds expectations' Performance Management ratings for all MBOs and Key Responsibilities.
- Interface effectively with other functions (Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Technology, Finance, Scheduling, and Operations) to maximize success and increase expertise across the organization.
- Support annual Safety, Wellness, and Recognition Teams and/or programs to improve key focus areas.
2. Operations Excellence
- Coordinate day-to-day shipments in collaboration with Warehouse staff and Customer Service.
- Verify received materials and route them to appropriate departments/locations.
- Prepare items for shipment, ensuring cost-effective courier services.
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Provide Inventory Control/Operations Support, including leading inventory cycle counting efforts quarterly.
- Communicate discovered issues to operations/finance teams for continuous improvement.
- Attend daily production meetings and provide input.
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
- Troubleshoot and track down root causes of cycle count variances.
- Support Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation and maintenance.
3. Continuous Improvement Excellence (20%)
- Support Operations Manager and Converting Center Manager in logistics continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ensure completion of approved freight and inventory continuous improvement projects within budget and meeting expectations.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
