Wieland is hiring aShipping Assistant. The Shipping Assistant will be responsible for
assisting in shipping material to customers in a timely manner. Additional tasks include data entry, communicating with clients, and working closely with other departments, such as Production and Sales to ensure customer orders will be delivered on-time and with the utmost professionalism. This role is located in Texas City, TX and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities:Shipping AssistantResponsibilities:
- Assist in generating shipping labels and reports, pick lists, and scheduling documentation
- Assist in preparing shipment of exports, ensuring all legal shipping requirements are met
- Assist in tracking and providing updated shipping status for customers as needed
- Assist in tracking and maintaining Daily Status Reports, note any discrepancies
- Assist in scheduling outgoing delivery trucks and receiving incoming packages
- Provide excellent customer service by staying on top of pending orders and customer requests
- Coordinate with the Sales and Production Teams to provide shipping information
- Operate as part of a team and support various scheduling and shipping functions
- Maintain effective working relationships with all external carriers.
- Utilize software to complete order entry, shipping, invoicing, etc.
- Complete tasks with a high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Manage documentation and maintain updated filing system
- Review records for accuracy and report any discrepancies
- Promptly respond to calls, emails, and correspondence
- Coordinate with interconnected departments
- Help ensure the workplace is free from harassment and discrimination.

- Other shipping/scheduling duties as assigned
Shipping Assistant Qualifications:
- High School equivalency.
- 1+ years’ experience in administration, data entry or a related field.
- Understanding of quality, production, metal manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency with computers and data entry
- Ability to perform conversions and calculations
- Fluent English language skills, both speaking and writing
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong analytical focus and attention to detail (critical skill)
- Ability to work flexible and/or overtime hours as required by the position
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management
- Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary.
