The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will plan, coordinate and control the activities of the Shipping and Receiving department to ensure that product is shipped out and received-in accurately. This role is onsite in Woodland, CA and will report to the Operations Manager.
You Will:
- Directly supervise employees in the Shipping & Receiving Dept (approx. 6-10)
- Schedule and expedites appropriate transportation to comply with shipping deadlines.
- Communicate with Corporate Transport team to pursue lowest possible freight rates.
- Plan layout of yard section and other storage areas by taking into consideration turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Determine methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock; and related tasks.
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Keep rack inventory organized and in such a manner that any potential hazards are minimized.
- Manage shipment of products to meet shipment schedules.
- Provide accurate bills of lading and keep records of goods shipped.
- Support Continuous Improvement Operating Systems program by supplying information quarterly. (End of quarter cut off)
- Daily DRP tracking report.
- Investigation and resolution of shipping issues such as overage/shortage, wrong address, etc.
- Verification and maintenance of UPC codes for material handlers
- Support continuous improvement programs by analyzing and implementing efficient shipping processes.
- Monitor and report OTIF (On Time and In Full) and other KPI's and meet objectives.
You Have:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- 3+ years of related experience or equivalent
- Working knowledge of distribution, transportation, and supply chain concepts.
- Familiar with procedures, logistics for major home stores including. palletizing, load balancing, height and width restrictions, pallet overhang restrictions, pallet wrap and banding requirements, pallet specifications.
- Forklift certification through in-house program.
- Working knowledge of mainframe system and proficiency with MS Office or equivalent.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000.

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job responsibilities outside the typical office setting.
