Job Description :

• This position is that of a Working Supervisor. Responsible for the day-to-day activities in both Shipping and Receiving.
• Prioritizes work to meet demands of manufacturing and engineering shipments.
• Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks and checking work at frequent intervals.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily activities of Shipping and Receiving dock to ensure safe and efficient shipment of orders and receipt of all deliveries.
• Prioritize work to meet demands of manufacturing and engineering shipments.
• Direct teams to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
• Provide immediate supervision to a group of 5-10 employees, assigning tasks and checking work at frequent intervals.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working dock.
• Efficiently utilize all given resources and provide an operation that ships customer orders on time, meets deadlines, and routinely collaborates with customer service and manufacturing to satisfy all customer expectations.
• Ensures shipments are aligned to customer standards, as detailed in the system, prior to leaving facility.
• Maintain inventory records as they are shipped or received.
• Maintain accurate warehouse inventory, perform cycle counting, and participate in physical inventories of warehouse and dock.
• Communicate and coordinate training.

Job Requirements:

A successful candidate must have/be:

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience in warehouses, shipping, and Receiving.
• Must have at least 2 years’ supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
• Should have general computer knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow-up on tasks.
• Self-starter capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing time efficiently.
• Must be able to lift to 35 lbs on occasion.
• Able to use warehouse machinery such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Experience with international trade preferred.
• Oracle knowledge helpful for future activity.
