Shipping and Receiving

A Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the logistics of moving products in and out of a facility.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing Outgoing Shipments: They are responsible for preparing outgoing shipments.
• Receiving Incoming Shipments: They handle receiving incoming shipments.
• Organizing Inventory: They organize inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in.
• Scheduling Shipments: They schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.
• Documenting Damages: They document damages to inventory.
• Maintaining the Stockroom: They maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis.
• Handling Issues: They handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
• Operating Equipment: They may operate forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.
• QuickBooks: Efficient knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Shipping portals: Efficient handling all logistics.

Skills:

• Expressing Information Clearly: As a Shipping and Receiving clerk, it’s important to clearly express information to your team and sometimes even directly to clients.
• Speaking, Writing, and Listening: Communication skills include speaking, writing, and listening1. You may need to explain shipping delays to sales staff, or report received goods issues to superiors.
• Interacting with Customers: Being a good communicator also involves interacting with customers, answering inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Coordinating with Co-workers: You need to be able to communicate with co-workers, customers, and vendors in order to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues that may arise.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
