Shipper - 2Nd Shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Abide by all Safety regulations and policies
• Must wear all required PPE for any task/job currently being performed
• Meet all production standards and efficiencies focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost based on current routings/times
• Perform daily housekeeping task. Help maintain 5S standards in your work location and whole department
• Must be willing to work outside of your current Job Classification and Department as qualified and needed
• Understand shipping document/paperwork and process accurately
• Use of computer shipping screens
• Operate fork truck efficiently to handle production flow
• Operate and move trailers using yard tractor
• Retrieve packed cabs and accessories
• Lift and stack wood tops onto trailers
• Lift and stack cab dollies
• Accurately generate all required shipping documents
• Effectively communicate with vendors / trucking companies
• Effectively communicate with SBD customer service reps
• Check equipment daily for malfunctions and report any to supervisor
• Communicate with supervisor and Maintenance on any needed repairs to material handling equipment
• Charge truck daily
• Must maintain forklift training and certification

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic mechanical abilities
• Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Organizational and communication skills
• Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge
• Strong orientation toward:
  • Safety, quality, and continuous improvement demonstrated by a work history of safe performance, accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed, constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement, ability to effectively implement or respond to change, punctuality and consistent work attendance
• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures, including those related to Safety
• Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills
• 1 year of previous shipping experience required
• Previous experience and proficiency in working with computers, Windows, and Microsoft Office Suite applications (especially Outlook and Excel)
• Prior forklift experience desired.
• Previous experience with SAP desired
• Basic knowledge of export compliance desired
• Must be trained in forklift operation and obtain certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate
• Must be able and willing to work daily and weekly overtime as required
• Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily
• Able to lift, push and/or pull up to 33lbs individually and up to 66lbs as a team
• Able to climb, twist, and grasp frequently
