Job Description
Shift Leads are trained to perform all the duties performed in production with additional responsibility for directing the daily operations of the crew with the General Manager's, Operation’s Manager, and Productions Manager's supervision, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of production are met.
The exact nature of work will depend on the exact needs of the operation seasonally. Tasks will typically include:
- Identify fish by species
- Tend to and operate machines
- Recordkeeping as it pertains to HACCP and regulatory requirements
- Ability to meet or exceed production expectations
- Inspect fish biproduct to meet company quality control standards
- Stack 60-pound frozen blocks onto pallets for shipping
- Cleaning factory equipment and assigned sanitation prerequisites
· Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts.
· Assist the Production Manager and Operations Manager to train and coach new employees.
· Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to management.
A Shift Lead is part of the production crew and involves dealing with people, particularly those who work in your team. A Shift Lead helps the team achieve its goals effectively. Individual needs strong organization and time management skills to be a successful in this role.
This is not a nine-to-five job and you may have to work shifts and unsocial hours, especially during peak season. You may also need to work extended hours, particularly if there are tight deadlines to be met or new systems to be introduced. You may be on call at weekends or public holidays. You will spend a considerable amount of time on the production floor where the environment can be noisy and dirty. The job can be stressful but rewarding.

· High School Diploma or GED

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience:
- Warehouse supervisor: 2 years (Preferred)
