The Washington County Sheriff's Office is hiring Community Service Officer Interns. Individuals interested in law enforcement have the opportunity to gain experience with the Washington County Sheriff's Office as a Community Service Officer-Intern are encouraged to apply. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Internship applied toward school credit, preferably in the Criminal Justice field
Effectively manage stressful situations and remain calm during emergencies
Work independently and exercise sound judgement in enforcing ordinances using judgment and discretion in accordance with established policies and procedures
Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with a wide variety of individuals and write accurate reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma
Possess a valid driver's license or have the ability to obtain
Successfully pass a background investigation
Anticipated Hiring Rate:$21.00
Hours/Days: Up to 40 hours per week, to include weekends as needed. The total hours worked is not to exceed a 400-hour internship to be concluded by December 31, 2023. Hours and days worked per week is flexible, based upon the needs of both the agency and the intern.

Respond to non-emergency calls for service, assist with motorist assists, and vehicle lockoutsEnforce City/County ordinances and assist in the enforcement of animal control ordinances
Assist deputies on scenes with traffic control
Transporting assets by trailering boats, camera trailers, etc.
Participating in community engagement activities
Monitor and empty medication drop boxes
Perform other duties as assigned.
