Description

Performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties in the Sheriff's office; does related work as required. Applicant is subject to a post-offer, pre-employment background check.
Examples of Duties
- Answers phones and assists public in lobby and determines nature of request for service or assistance and refers the individual to the proper person, division or agency;
- Enters incident supplements into Records Management Computer System and enters information and data in NCIC as needed;
- Responsible for quality control of timely, accurate and complete entries into NCIC-Missing Persons, Gun, Vehicle and Article files that are subject to biennial FBI Federal and CJIN State audits;
- Updates all case activity, including case arrests, additional property information, and case dispositions;
- Validates warrants for authorized law enforcement agencies;
- Confirms theft reports when stolen vehicles, property and guns are recovered by other agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D; and
- One (1) years' experience in the performance of multifaceted office support or detailed secretarial duties including data entry, visitor reception tasks and answering multi-line phones; or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications:
- Obtain CJIN/NCIC certification within first three (3) months of hire and maintain re-certification every two (2) years. The supervisor may extend the deadline for the CJIN certification an additional three (3) months from date of hire.
