Position Summary: SG Services seeks an Accounts Receivable Manager to lead the AR team in providing timely and accurate accounting operations services to affiliated companies, with a focus on Secretly Distribution Accounts Receivable operations.
This role requires some traditional Accounts Receivable work but is largely focused on problem-solving using excel and complex data management skills and cross-functionally supporting Secretly Distribution’s teams. The person in this role will have a strong work ethic, use critical thinking to solve problems, have advanced excel and data management skills, and be able to seamlessly partner with other Secretly Distribution leaders on the retail, shipping, receiving and inventory teams to ensure an effective Accounts Receivable function.
Responsibilities:
Traditional Accounts Receivable Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and lead collection efforts, overseeing and ensuring proper customer credit policies are in place and followed, including ensuring invoices are collected and paid in accordance with invoice terms
- Monthly reporting of open Accounts Receivable and collection challenges
- Ensure daily shipped sales reports are completed and accurate, ensure customers are charged for shipping and invoiced timely
- Supervise and mentor a dynamic AR team, teaching and growing their skillsets and maximizing their output - creating resiliency on the team
Non-Traditional Accounts Receivable Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure customer physical and digital sales reporting is ingested and paid out timely as set out in the company’s accounting calendar - reporting results and trends to Partners monthly
- Support the Secretly Distribution team on resolving cross-functional Accounts Receivable challenges including sales and inventory reporting issues, chargebacks, and consignee reporting management
- Collaborate with various Secretly Distribution departments including retail, inventory, shipping, and warehouse staff, finding solutions to complex problems
- Using excel and data manipulation skills, ensure End of Day shipment reporting is done accurately and efficiently, providing accurate and timely reporting to Secretly and distributed labels
- Develop new and innovative ways to create scalable, repeatable AR processes in a multi-business unit environment
The Ideal Candidate Demonstrates:
- Prior Accounts Receivable experience
- Some general accounting experience preferred
- Prior experience in distribution or music industry a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is required (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP's)
- Adeptness with large data sets
- Proven interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high accuracy rate
