Description
Under the supervision of the Service Technician Supervisor the Service Technician Aide provides operational support to the Service Technician team. The Service Technician Aide is responsible for assisting with and replacing water meters, and various other duties as assigned. In return, the Service Technician Aide will receive hands-on exposure to the inner workings of a Customer Field Service Water Utility Department.
Examples of Duties
- Performs small (under 1") meter replacements scheduled by Fairfax Water's meter management program or in response to an investigation of low water consumption.
- Utilizes SAP and CCS Mobile to close work orders, research accounts and maintain records.
- Driving an Authority vehicle or providing directions utilizing a map to locate water meter locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Typical Qualifications
- Ability to identify and use all types of small hand tools.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to overcome physical barriers (such as climbing through brush).
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CCS Mobile application.
- Ability to perform heavy physical tasks and lift to 60 lbs.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Enrolled as a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school for the upcoming fall to qualify for the program.
- Possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
- Specific safety requirements.
