Job Summary: As a Service Desk Specialist, you'll be the initial point of contact for our diverse community, providing crucial support for computer, phone, and data communication issues. You'll diagnose and resolve problems or escalate them when necessary, ensuring a seamless support experience. Your role involves tracking, documenting solutions, and maintaining ongoing communication until resolution.
The Role in Focus
As our Service Desk Specialist, you're the linchpin in our support system, diagnosing issues and ensuring resolution or escalation when needed. Your role involves meticulous tracking and documentation, ensuring a seamless journey from initial contact to satisfactory resolution. Daily, you'll:
- Serve as the primary support contact via multiple channels - telephone, email, Zoom/Teams, or in person.
- Log issues efficiently for swift processing and collaborate with teams to resolve complex problems.
- Support desktop application installation, maintenance, and upgrades for a seamless user experience.
- Stay vigilant, monitoring system-wide events, and facilitating timely notifications and resolutions.
Your Workplace, Your Way
Work-life balance matters. You'll have the flexibility to choose between partial remote work or fully embracing our campus environment, typically on a Monday through Friday, 8 AM-5 PM PST schedule.
What We Seek
- Education: An Associate's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional Suite, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams is key. Troubleshooting prowess for hardware, software, printers, and networks is essential. Your communication skills, adeptness in translating technical jargon into understandable language, are invaluable.
