Senior Warehouse Lead

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for a Senior Warehouse Lead for a large distribution center located in Tinley Park, IL. The Senior Warehouse Lead will supervise daily operations of the warehouse including receiving incoming shipments, sorting & transferring materials, and preparing shipments for outbound delivery. The successful applicant will maintain display high levels of professionalism, lead and develop a team of warehouse associates, and maintain constant communication with Warehouse Leadership at all times. The Senior Warehouse Lead will be required to meet key performance metrics as well as manage team to hit KPIs. This person will work together with other departments and management to maximize productivity in the facility, ensure associates receive proper training and mentorship, and manage hiring/scheduling to ensure that team is properly staffed at all times. Available shift:Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:30pmResponsibilities of the Senior Warehouse Lead:

• Distribute workload to the team daily according to schedules
• Develops and maintains effective warehouse storage practices that promote efficient storage, identification and retrieval
• Assist in reconciling inventory
• Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
• Administers operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
• Analyzes or resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Does quality checks of all incoming material
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures and shift schedules to meet deadlines.
• Monitors inbound, outbound and inventory control operation progress and directs activities to complete daily task
• Ensure staff is fully trained on assigned tasks and organize on-going cross training of employees.
• Ensures daily activities and staffing requirements as planned are executed
• Helps insure timely and accurately checking and shipping of all orders
• Follow all safety rules and procedures
• Follow all applicable OSHA regulations
• Proper use of company equipment and safety gear at all times in accordance with established company procedures
• Participate and may lead safety meetings
• Report to work on the required scheduled days/hours and overtime, as required.
• Positive and proactive participation in all physical inventories
• Immediately report any unsafe conditions to an on duty supervisor or DC Manager
• Maintains current fork lift certification.

Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Warehouse Lead:

• 2 years minimum experience as a Warehouse Shift Lead or Supervisor
• Attendance at assigned work facility is required
• Experience in a distribution environment experience preferred
• Ability to understand all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA)
• Must be able to read, write and count
• Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working with multiple data systems
• Ability to input and receive data
• Ability to handle fluctuating volume of inbound material and/or job tasks
• Requires flexibility and understanding that all staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goal of the warehouse
• Energetic and highly motivated to succeed
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
