POSITION PURPOSE
The Warehouse Lead I provides work direction to assigned staff; monitors the departments staffing needs; ensures consistent workflow in and out of the area; and provides assistance to the Supervisor as needed.
Job Essentials
- Performs all duties within assigned area i.e. picking/packing, loading/unloading, shipping, and receiving.
- Monitors department staffing needs and works with supervisor to adjust accordingly.
- Oversees and trains new associates.
- Provides work direction to the team and assigns work areas to achieve desired productivity goals.
- Meets or exceeds performance and productivity goals.
- Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Follows all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
- Ensures that all standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
- Establishes good communication between departments.
SCOPE
- Works under general direction. Primary job functions require some independent judgment.
- Works closely with hourly associates, warehouse supervisors and managers.
- Provides daily work direction to the team and provides new hire training as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year experience in a lead capacity within a warehouse environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
- Physical activity includes regular standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and climbing stairs and ladders. Extensive walking and working on elevated platforms.
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
