As a Senior Tax Manager you'll have the opportunity to:

The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services for firm clients. Duties will include, but are not limited to, working closely with the Managing Director, Tax to identify the needs of clients and prospects and to identify and implement solutions.

As such, they provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance expertise. They provide exceptional client service as a trusted business advisor and efficiently runs engagements and relationships independently with little or no Director involvement.

The Senior Tax Manager will be knowninternally and externally as a tax expert in various disciplines.

Client Management

• Serve as the tax services client or project manager and main point of contact for complex client groups and projects.
• Maintain active communication with clients to manage their expectations, ensure client satisfaction, and make sure deadlines are met.
• Manage, direct, and monitor multiple client services teams on client engagements including high-level evaluation of engagement performance and profitability.
• Interact closely with assigned tax clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients while managing the client assignments to budget.
• Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and SN.
• Manage the interaction of multiple service offerings within the firm including outsourced accounting, strategic tax, advisory, technology, and assurance services.

Compliance

• Strong background specializing in high-level partnerships with PE firms required.
• Conduct quality, technical, and/or detailed review of complex passthrough, corporate, and individual tax returns.
• Responsible for the oversight and management of a full range of tax services including passthrough entity, corporation, and individual tax returns for multiple clients in a variety of industries; heavily focused on professional services, construction, and manufacturing.
• For Partnerships: assist project managers and clients with partnership compliance matters including life events, mergers and acquisitions structuring, tax allocations, inside and outside basis computations, Section 704(c) and section 734)b)/743(b) computations, and schedule K-1 processing.
• For S Corporations: assist project managers and clients with life events, basis computations, distributions and redemptions and the interplay with Sections 301, 302, 318 and 1368.
• Multi-state tax experience strongly preferred. Direct, delegate, and mentor managers on state tax compliance, including, composite, and PTE filing activities.
• Teach and review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards.
• Remain up-to-date and advise the firm on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

People Management

• Manage, develop, train and mentor assigned tax seniors and managers on tax projects and assess their performance for both engagement and annual performance reviews.
• Appropriate delegation of responsibilities to managers, seniors, staff, and offshore accountants.
• Serve as a mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback.

Other Responsibilities

• Work closely with tax directors, managers and other tax staff on client management, practice development and business development activities.
• Consult, collaborate with, and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvements, and serve as a business adviser to client.
