Your responsibilities
Prepare federal, state, province income tax calculations, income tax returns, extensions and estimated tax payments for U.S. and Canadian entities.
Prepare and support annual income tax accounting process to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Prepare income tax accruals and forecast calculations.
Prepare review and document supporting calculations and income tax accounting positions.
Research and document income tax positions.
Prepare and review State and Province Nexus Studies.
Respond to any notices from tax authorities and provide audit support.
Provide assistance for other projects or Ad-hoc requests if needed,
Identify and implement process improvements for the North America tax department.
Your profile
Undergraduate Accounting or other financial discipline, Preferred CPA or other financial certification and/or advanced degree (JD or MST).
Minimum 3 years of experience with public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a firm, experience with U.S. inbound company will be a plus.
At least 2 years of experience with technical tax laws, regulations and interpreting tax laws.
At least 2 years of experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Proficiency with Microsoft programs, i.e. Excel, Words, PowerPoint
Pref Preferred prior experience in energy trading or/and commodities industries.
Detailed oriented, proactive and eager to learn, work independently with little supervisions
Proficient analytical ability to resolve complex, technical issues
Proficient writing and communication skills
Assumes personal ownership for developing tax technical and communication skills.
