Position Summary:
The Senior Systems Analyst, working in the Digital & Technical Solutions (D&TS) Technical Services Team, will partners with the (D&TS) Product Solution Owners to derive, design, and implement business solutions to support the organization. This includes facilitating and providing the analysis of business requirements to support business functions, process knowledge, and system requirements. The Senior Systems Analyst leads the support of development and configuration, maintenance, and enhancements to systems and applications. This includes facilitating and providing technical analysis and direction, application testing, and database analysis within our MS SQL Server environment. The Senior Systems Analyst will apply proven project methodology, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of the organization's business system investments, workflows, reporting, and other procedures Applying good query and configuration techniques, this person will become adept at defensive methods to protect the company's mission critical business systems.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and lead teams in the planning, design, development, and deployment of projects.
- Identify and establish scope and parameters around implementation projects to define effort, impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions.
- Develop and maintain project plans and timeframes to accurately track and report on the progress of projects. This includes managing project schedules, risk & issues logs, and resource needs.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and flow charts to provide direction to project team members.
- Execute deliverables within project scope, quality standards and timeframes.
- Prototype new procedures within applications for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow for various business units.
- Lead systems test planning, execution, classification of defects with recommendations for resolution, and deployment of system deliverables to the business.
- Utilize technology to provide a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information to service the customer in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving business processes in operating systems across the organization.
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications - verbally or through written documentation - to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Mentor, provide advice, and train less experienced staff on system capabilities, system functionality, and industry standard business processes.
- Comply with SOX compliance and Infosec guidelines
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Associates degree in management information systems or business administration OR business systems experience in the insurance industry and minimum 2 years related work experience.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, project methodology, and implementation.
- Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
- Experience with project methodology and management tools.
- Extensive practical knowledge in importing/leveraging data for use in spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts.
- Experience with MS SQL Server Management Studio and Tools (SSRS, SSIS) is preferred.
- Extensive experience with software applications, including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and act on it.

- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to think logically and critically; set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals and evaluate processes/results.

- Occasionally implementations may require work to happen outside of regular business hours -nights, weekends or holidays may be scheduled to meet client project deadlines.
