Amentum is currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator - Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support the Quality Assurance Branch of the Prototyping Integration Facility (PIF) of the Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Center (C5ISR) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position will provide system administrative/ AWS engineering functions to include conceptualization, design, implementation, and optimization. This project will provide the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Futures Command, U.S. Special Forces and the U.S. Marine Corps integration of C5ISR operational prototypes onto a range Military Weapon Systems & Platforms (air, ground & sea) as well as performing C5ISR prototyping, integration, and testing support based on Real-World emerging needs of the Warfighter.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess evolving user needs, translating those needs into network changes through network reconfiguration, hardware and software acquisitions, installation and test.
- Maintain knowledge of the application of current and emerging software and hardware technology and protocols, providing recommendations to the Government and Team on best use.
AWS Environment Implementation and Integration:
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS environments that adhere to DoD security guidelines and compliance standards.
- Execute and oversee DISA BCAP traversal, establishing secure communication between diverse security domains within the AWS infrastructure.
- Lead integration efforts of EAMS-A (Enterprise Army Management System) with Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, ensuring seamless and secure access to the system.
- Integrate shared services, including SMTP, Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), DNS, Active Directory (AD), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), Key Management Service (KMS), OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol), NTP (Network Time Protocol), and PROXY, into the AWS ecosystem.
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Management:
- Create and manage AWS accounts/workspaces, configuring security policies and access controls as per DoD requirements.
- Establish and maintain interconnectivity between subnets and availability zones to ensure a robust and resilient network architecture.
- Implement and manage Transit Gateway and AWS Direct Connect for seamless and secure network communication.
DevSecOps and Application Support:
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevSecOps practices, including configuring GitLab runners for continuous integration and delivery.
- Provide technical expertise and support for application products and ancillary services, working closely with the development team.
- Manage AWS resources such as Lambda, Elastic File System (EFS), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) for efficient application hosting and scalability.
Cybersecurity and CSSP Integration:
- Integrate cybersecurity best practices into the AWS environment, ensuring compliance with DoD Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) requirements.
- Collaborate with CSSP services to implement and maintain security measures, threat detection, and incident response procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- 5+ years of proven experience in the implementation and management of AWS environments within DoD or similar security-conscious contexts.
- Understanding of DISA BCAP traversal, EAMS-A SSO integration, and integration of shared services such as SMTP, NGFW, DNS, AD, SIEM, KMS, OCSP, NTP, and PROXY.
- Expertise in VPC management, subnet configuration, Transit Gateway setup, and AWS Direct Connect integration.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, GitLab runners, and application-level services (Lambda, EFS, EC2, EKS).
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity standards and CSSP integration is highly desirable.
- Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Please note US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- C5ISR experience.
- Knowledge and experience with Department of Defense. (DOD)/Army plans, policies, standards, and methods aimed at the acquisition and support of military systems.
- Certification in CompTIA Security.
