Senior Systems Administrator

Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team as a Tier 3 System Administrator for our client. The ideal candidate will have an active role in the transformation of our client’s computing environment and will collaborate with other teams, as well as provide technical assistance on products and services.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

• Engage in a collaborative team environment, contributing to brainstorming, problem-solving, and peer review to maintain high-quality work standards.
• Utilize PowerShell and Tanium for deploying and managing scripts.
• Handle a broad range of service requests in collaboration with senior management.
• Maintain effective communication with service requestors and various departments for accurate script development and deployment.
• Conduct extensive testing, including beta and pilot phases, to ensure script reliability before deployment.
• Regularly update the virtualized test environment to mirror the production environment, enabling effective testing.
• Track open tickets, documenting every stage, including conversations, GitHub script revisions, time logs, testing schedules, and Tanium target creation for script rollouts.
• Stay abreast of the ever-changing software, hardware, and OS landscapes. This knowledge is crucial for troubleshooting, advising upper management, and shaping future network strategies.
• Continuously update skills and practices in line with the latest advancements in PowerShell, Tanium, and related technologies.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience or Associate’s degree and 7 years’ experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years’ experience.
• Must have the ability to develop solutions using PowerShell, VBScript, etc. to identify and/or remediate problems related to Microsoft Workplace Modernization efforts.
• Must have the ability to independently install, test, and implement complex component-level changes within the technology infrastructure.
• Must have the ability to perform capacity and performance analyses and develops and implements recommendations.
• Must have the ability to develop and recommend innovative solutions to business problems of moderate complexity, including preparation of cost-benefit analyses.
• Must have the ability to analyze and resolve complex hardware and software problems with distributed systems.
• U.S. Citizenship required; must have active Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Must have Tanium experience, and related technologies.
• Must have the ability to collaborates/Interacts with other diverse functional groups to accomplish stated objectives.
• Showcase the ability to communicate well (orally and written) when working with the client’s consumers/customers.
• Possesses the ability to successfully manage and prioritize concurrent task.
• Uses in-depth knowledge of distributed hardware and software systems.
• Ability to interact with other diverse functional groups to accomplish stated objectives.
