Position Summary
As part of the IT Applications - Corporate, Human Resources, and Business Systems team, the Sr. Specialist IT is a key business facing role that is a liaison between Hess functional teams including Treasury, Finance, Accounting, Tax, Audit, Risk, Economics, Compliance and other Corporate Business teams and the internal Hess IT teams. The Sr. Specialist role is responsible for the end-to-end technical assurance and lifecycle application management for all technical, non-ERP, solutions that enable their supported business functions. The Sr. Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring all technical solutions adhere to company security policies and follow the associated IT software policies and procedures.
The Sr. Specialist IT will work closely with their business partners to understand and build strategic plans for application and solution modernization while also playing a key operational role to ensure a high level of service. Operationally, the Sr. Specialist IT continually monitors IT service for quality levels and response to any outages or performance issues with a sense of urgency. Keeping services and technologies up and running optimally is core to this role. The Sr. Specialist IT will work directly with outsourcing support, overseeing the technical support of applications in the domain of their business partners. This work with the outsourcing partners will include prioritization of work. Additionally, this role will provide technical assistance to the citizen developers in these functions assisting with BI reporting, SQL coding, and other citizen developed artifacts.
Roles & Responsibilities
IT Technical Skills
- Develop and deploy solutions to ensure that the applications and services are performing according to specifications, meet defined procedures, and comply with applicable security policies/ requirements.
- Integrate applications and third-party products into internal services.
- Collaborate with business partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Manage technical work activities of contingent worker resources to support enhancements and continuous improvements, as needed.
- Review all changes to the applications eco-system and participate in incident and problem management activities as needed
- Represent applicable service during information technology audits by internal and external organizations.
- Ensure the technical aspects of the service are properly documented.
- Support current RPA Bots (Treasury short term investment, AP forecast and Guyana Daily production report)
- Work with application vendors to resolve issues, apply patches, bug fixes, as well as create/maintain customized reports for Integrity and GEMS.
- Update/renew SSH/SSL certificates for business applications.
- Provide supportive documents of Integrity to Audit team quarterly and walk-through Integrity system with EY auditor semi-annually for SOX compliance.
- Provide maximum balances of Hess foreign bank accounts and Treasury FX rates during first two months of every year for FBAR Report.
Strategic Vision & Partnership
- Partner with stakeholder teams across supported business units and IT to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with all teams.
- Provide input into IT business planning, strategy, and roadmaps to ensure IT work aligned with business objectives and optimized.
- Ensure accurate budget, forecasting and timelines for baseline budget and projects for Treasury, Finance, Tax, Compliance and Corporate systems.
- Ensure timely renewal of all licenses for applications and systems for supported business areas.
- Partner with stakeholder teams to prioritize projects and to develop continually updating roadmaps for modernization.
- Manage invoices for all spending related to baseline and projects for supported business areas.

Qualifications
- Experience with FIS Integrity, Vertex, and Hyperion preferred
- Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform including PowerApps and PowerBI
- Experience in oil and gas preferred
- Comfortable at influencing without authority.
- Ability to build clear and concise presentations and communicate effectively at every level of the organization including senior leadership
- Ability to problem solve, make independent decisions, formulate reports, perform statistical analysis, and interpret data
- Ability to create and troubleshoot reports in reporting platforms such as PowerBI, BusinessObjects, and Spotfire
- Ability to work independently, be result oriented, manage multiple priorities, and frequent change in duties and volume of work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to facilitate meetings of a variety of sizes, ensuring all perspectives shared and heard and meeting objectives met
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Management Systems or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology roles
- 5+ years of experience supporting applications in Finance, Tax, Compliance, Treasury, Risk, and Economics
