Description

Engineer and execute early manufacturing feasibility studies to provide manufacturability assessments, and release preliminary die processes and layouts for high volume manufacture of U.S., global, and emerging market passenger vehicle Body on Frame (BoF) and Body Frame Integral (BFI) stamped steel and aluminum body side outers, pick-up box outers, quarter outers, underbody and upper structures, roofs, hoods, liftgates, and decklids, at all virtual assessment gates to optimize manufacturing conditions and identify manufacturability concerns according to GM requirements, using Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Vismockup, AutoForm tools. Engineer, design, and develop preliminary Die Operation Line-Up (DOL) to determine number of workstations, flow direction, die sequence, and die processes such as draw, trim, pierce, flanging, restrike and cam dies required to produce a complete part. Evaluate formability, validate and optimize designed draw and line die surfaces to meet GM formability criteria including Form Limit Curve (FLC), thinning, wrinkles, surface defects, skid lines, and impact lines, using AutoForm tool.                                                                                                                                   

Additional Description

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field, and five (5) years of experience as an Engineer, Technical Lead, or related role.  Must also have experience with: engineering and executing early manufacturing feasibility studies, and releasing preliminary die processes and layouts for high volume manufacture of stamped body side outers, pick-up box outers, and quarter outers, at virtual assessment gates to optimize manufacturing conditions and identify manufacturability concerns according to OEM requirements, using Siemens NX and AutoForm tools.
