SENIOR SCIENTIST / PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST, FUNCTIONAL GENOMICS
Join a dynamic team within the Functional Genomics group. We are passionate about unraveling the mysteries of genome instability in aging and age-related diseases. In this role, you'll help lead pioneering research to understand the role of genome instability and genetic variation in neurodegenerative diseases. You will also utilize your expertise in NGS data analysis to analyze large and complex datasets generated by our wet-lab team. Broader collaboration across the company is key, as you'll work closely with other interdisciplinary teams composed of biologists, computational biologists, chemists, and others. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investigate genome instability in preclinical models of aging and disease, focusing on microsatellite expansion, transposable elements, and repetitive sequences
- Integrate and analyze NGS datasets encompassing genome structure data, DNA sequencing, transcriptomics, and DNA methylation
- Develop and document analysis methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and present findings to a diverse audience including biologists, chemists, and statisticians
- Perform additional duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in Genomics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, or Engineering
- 3+ years of post-graduate experience in relevant fields
- Proficiency in the best practices of Next-Gen Sequencing data analysis, covering techniques like single-cell RNA-seq, multiome analysis, bulk RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, CRISPR on/off-target analysis, mobile element mapping, and somatic mutation calling
- Strong familiarity with Linux, cloud computing, and scripting languages such as Python and R
- Expertise in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing
- A robust record of innovative research, as evidenced by publications and presentations
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
