Senior Scientist I, Applications and Technology Development
The Senior Scientist role in ATG is an individual contributor to BDB Innovation, including both Application and Technology Development. The successful candidate is responsible for driving new ideation, development, and execution of novel applications or technologies in alignment with BDB’s Growth Strategy. This involves contributing on multidisciplinary teams which leverage BD Biosciences capabilities including but not limited to Flow Cytometry, Single Cell Multi-omics, NGS technologies, immune-oncology, Immunology. As needed the Senior scientist will champion new concepts and lead technology development toward product development.
They will participate in ongoing innovation pipeline planning, requirements gathering, and development initiatives. The ATG Scientist works on projects of diverse scope where key team members inside and outside of BD should be demonstrated. Good communication is essential. Innovation scientists in ATG are responsible for ensuring alignment to current business strategy.
ATG scientists are encouraged to eventually tackle Subject Matter Authority (SME) status and serve as advisor on a variety of projects.
Provide leadership that embodies BD/BDB values and culture.
Engage with customers and scientific community, communicating BD’s newest technologies and garnering understanding of highest priority unmet needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Biology, Bioengineering or related discipline required.
Extensive experience and proven track record of innovation in high-dimensional data acquisition and analysis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Independent Scientist, with creative problem-solving skills.
Self-starter having comfort with ambiguity.
Assets:
3+ years of experience working with flow cytometry, single-cell and/or spatial multiomics techniques.
Experience in the design and implementation of novel technologies and/or novel applications.
Experience working with software for flow cytometers or other related omics devices.
Experience analyzing high-dimensional Omics data.
