The firm is seeking a Senior Scheduler to support a federal client. This position will work directly with our clients and project management teams to develop cost and schedule baselines, collect monthly status information, analyze progress and project variances, and reports are standardized and developed at various levels.
The Senior Scheduler must be able to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, conduct meetings and work independently. The position is remote with periodic travel to client sites (must work during Eastern time zone office hours).
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and analyze project schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM) for major projects and/or portfolios of projects in accordance with contract specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to gather project progress information and monitor project status.
- Provide accurate scheduling data regarding dates, resource requirements, subcontractor commitments, percent complete, and project accruals.
- Review schedule progress and resource productivity to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop time-phased project cost and resource forecasts, validate project costs, and update requirements as needed.
- Monitor project progress and actual expenditures against forecasts to ensure budget and timeline compliance.
- Conduct financial analysis including variance, risk, and profitability analyses.
- Generate and evaluate earned value reports for projects and programs, and present findings to project managers for discussion.
- Evaluate and document the impact of project changes on cost/schedule baselines.
- Capable of explaining the schedule in a formal meeting, presentation, or negotiation.
- Perform Time Impact Analysis and develop fragnets.
- Evaluate project execution and identify developing trends, using prescribed methodologies to ensure the project is proceeding within available resources and budget.
- Prepare various status reports for client to convey cost and schedule trends.
- Confirm and maintain compliance with internal and external processes, including contractual specifications with federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- 7 years minimum of Project Controls experience
- Intermediate to Expert level P6 user
- Proficiency in both schedule and cost control
- Intermediate to Expert level of Project Management knowledge
- Must be able to pass a federal background check
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
Preferred Certifications & Experience:
- AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification preferred, but not required.
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience supporting scheduling efforts for a federal entity.
