Dr. Isobel Scarisbrick and her Regenerative Neuroscience and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory team are looking to hire a team-oriented individual who can routinely act independently and in team settings. In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, familiar with cell biology and molecular biology techniques (i.e. immunohistochemistry, mammalian tissue culture, and qPCR), and extremely reliable with their laboratory techniques. Prior mouse colony management and rodent handling experience is a great advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
This individual will set up and perform routine and established lab procedures (i.e. histology, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc.) in support of lab goals and grant commitments. They will monitor results; report unusual outcomes; suggest modications; and collect, report, and summarize data. This individual's research experience will allow for meaningful contribution to the planning, design, and modication of studies and experiments, as approved by the Principal Investigator. They may oversee and assist with the training of residents, fellows and temporary lab personnel in lab techniques. Other duties include assisting with equipment maintenance, presenting at laboratory meetings, and contributing to manuscripts. This individual will work with minimal supervision a er the initial training period and performs assignments independently as discussed with and approved by Principal Investigator
