SUMMARY: Pharmgate is passionate about developing high quality, innovative animal health products. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive bench experience in molecular biology, virology, bacteriology, and immunology techniques. This individual will play a crucial role in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to research projects within our laboratory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform a wide range of laboratory techniques in molecular biology, bacteriology, and immunology.
· Design and execute experiments independently, following established protocols and procedures.
· Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data accurately and efficiently.
· Troubleshoot technical issues and propose solutions to optimize experimental outcomes.
· Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
· Assist in the training and supervision of junior lab technicians and research assistants.
· Collaborate with research team members to contribute to the development and execution of research projects.
· Keep detailed records of experiments, protocols, and results in laboratory notebooks.
· Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies in relevant fields.
REQUIRED QUALIFACTIONS:
· Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Research Laboratory setting, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
· Proficiency in a wide range of laboratory techniques, including but not limited to PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA extraction, bacterial culture techniques, mammalian cell culture.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Experience with laboratory management, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and safety compliance, is desirable.
· Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced research environment.
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates with the knowledge, skill, and/or ability listed below:
· ELISA, Western blotting, and immunofluorescence.
· Suspension mammalian cell culture, Anaerobic bacterium culture
· 2-3 years of experience in an industrial R&D Research Laboratory, preferably microbiology/molecular biology
· Experience working with bioreactors and/or advanced analytical instruments
EDUCATION:
· M.S. or B.S degree in Virology, Microbiology or related discipline
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to both office settings and laboratory environments. Laboratory setting includes exposure to and working with laboratory research animals. Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments with moving mechanical parts. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
