Senior Quality Engineer (SQE)
The WTCC Senior QE - Functionally reports to the WTCC QE&P Manager and is responsible for a number of key Quality Assurance areas and will need a thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience in Hazards and Accident Analysis, and Safety Basis Documentation development and maintenance, as well as experience with data accumulation and analysis, trending analysis, and the documentation and follow up on performance problems.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual
Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $107,462.78 - $169,763.77 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
- Serves as the primary Quality Department subject matter expert on requirements associated with hazards and accident analysis, safety basis development, classification of systems and components, criticality safety, and completion of safety evaluations.
- Evaluates the adequacy of work processes and products created by project personnel or consultants in this area of expertise to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Interfaces with internal and external customers to provide performance insights and recommend solutions to emergent issues in this area of expertise
- Mentoring other Quality Department personnel to improve their understanding of nuclear safety requirements and practices
- Evaluation of engineering, procurement, and construction activities for conformance to project QA program/plan requirements and program effectiveness at achieving desired results.
- Analyses data on project performance to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of project procedures, programs, and processes.
- Proactively provides in-process and final results to the assessed organizations
- Documents the results of audits and surveillances in accordance with Quality Department procedures and the project Corrective Action Program
- Reviews and reports on project associated quality-related procedures and manuals for conformance to project QA program/plan requirements.
- Reviews and reports on new or revised regulatory requirements and their impact on the established QA program.
- Follows up on actions taken in response to issues to assure adequacy of completed corrective actions.

EXPEREINCE
- BS degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or equivalent with at least 11 years of relative experience, in lieu of a degree 17 years of relative experience in the following areas, but not limited to:
- developing accident analyses and/or technical reports
- working in the functional area of nuclear safety (hazards analysis, accident analysis, and control selection)
- developing and maintaining the content of Documented Safety Analysis and Technical Safety Requirements
- Technical knowledge in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, or Quality Assurance sufficient to comprehend the application of and relationships to technical and quality requirements in engineering, procurement, and construction related products (specifications, drawings, material requisitions, purchase orders, subcontracts, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability with oral and written communications.
- Ability to use a computer and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of, or experience with, the development of specifications, drawings, and material requisitions.
- Working knowledge in the application of construction, engineering, procurement, operations, commissioning, training, environmental safety & health, and subcontract practices sufficient to comprehend regulatory requirements applicable to said applications.
- Current or recent (within last 3 years) qualifications on an Unreviewed Safety Question process
- Current or recent Lead Auditor Certification in a nuclear environment in accordance with a recognized national standard.
