Job DescriptionThe Senior Projects Producer must be a dynamic leader who can assist the NY Duopoly - WNBC and WNJU News Directors as they guide their teams, while developing, shooting and editing stories, (where appropriate) for the general and Hispanic markets. The Senior Producer also works closely with the duopoly’s Director of Multi-Platform Content to develop digital elements of investigative reports and special long-form content for our FAST channels.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Producer assists News Directors in guiding/working with I-Team and Investiga reporters, producers, and photographers.
- Works closely with the Director of Multi-Platform Content to develop digital elements and long-form content for FAST channels.
- Assists News leadership at WNBC and WNJU in coordinating investigative coverage of breaking news.
- Works effectively with News leadership in both NYC and Fort Lee, NJ, becoming integral in editorial and leadership meetings at both stations.
- Enterprises and develops more Investiga stories for WNJU.
- Finds, researches, and develops investigative stories that can be reported on both stations.
- Shoots and edits investigative reports for reporters and anchors where appropriate.
- Works closely with WNBC and WNJU Legal & Standards on investigative approaches and story approval processes.
- Collaborates with Creative Services at WNBC and WNJU on promotions that attract a wide audience and acts as an advisor on effective promotions for both stations.

Qualifications- Minimum 10 years’ experience as an investigative/long-form photographer, editor, producer.
- Strong editorial judgment necessary. The ability to discern as well as the ability to respond and make decisions in a breaking news situation for coverage across multiple platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external groups.
- Experience in script approval and creative approaches to storytelling.
- Ability to multitask and work with changing priorities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Must embrace a fast-paced, highly-graphic, visual storytelling process.
- Must have experience with computer-assisted reporting
