Pay Rate: $45.95 - $57.47 hr.

Senior Project Controls Specialist

Delve Underground is looking for a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support our dynamic team of Project Managers and engineers in the delivery of high-profile underground infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be based in the downtown Vancouver office, focused on supporting local projects.


The Senior Project Controls Specialist will play a central role in keeping project and business operations/activities organized, on track and moving forward. They will oversee work to prepare invoices, financial reports and contracts and lead subconsultant coordination, document control and quality control activities.


The Project Controls Specialist will join the Delve Underground Project Controls Group, which offers with a defined career path and ample opportunities for growth and professional development. The position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills, the ability to manage junior and intermediate Project Controls team members, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers in managing scope, budget, schedule, and contract requirements
  • Prepare labour and cost reports using the firm's accounting platform, Deltek Vision
  • Manage the preparation of monthly invoices for over a dozen projects
  • Prepare/review invoice packages, coordinating with subconsultants/contractors
  • Prepare and analyze project labour and cost data
  • Maintain accounts receivable/collections
  • Prepare work in progress (WIP) reports
  • Prepare labor rate and overhead rate adjustments per contract requirements
  • Support Project Managers with preparation of monthly progress reports, including expenditure reports and cost forecasting.
  • Support Construction Managers in construction cost management including reviewing Contractor progress payment applications and preparation of monthly cost reports
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals, including assisting in the development of the Project Controls effort required for the project budget
  • Assist Project Managers in project closeout tasks, lessons learned evaluations, and final reporting
  • Maintain social equity reporting per contract requirements
  • Provide support for Document Control and Quality Control activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressively senior Project Controls experience
  • Bachelor's degree or accounting training/designation preferred
  • Basic understanding of heavy civil design and construction management processes
  • In depth knowledge of standard billing practices
  • Familiar with standard quality management practices
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, independence, interpersonal skills and flexibility in the performance of duties.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High proficiency in Excel: VLOOKUP, PIVOT tables, and graphing
  • Basic knowledge on Microsoft Project or P6
  • Deltek Vision experience and PMP or AACE Certification is considered an asset
