Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Project Controls Specialist, and aSenior Cost Engineer for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant near Richland, WA. These onsite roles offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization/demobilization. Bechtel is targeting $80.00 - $85.00/hour for these roles.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Project Overview:
The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site. This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, Monday-Thursday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains required schedule information by all disciplines/functions.
- Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs.
- Responsible for total integration of schedule activities.
- Identifies schedule considerations and problems resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces.
- Monitors and reports critical path and schedule performance of the total project.
- Conducts project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine the criticality of schedule activities.
- Recommends alternatives for schedule improvement to the project team for discussion and/or decision.
- Identifies restraints and effects on the total project schedule.
- Responsible for leading the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans.
- Monitors cost recording, monitoring, and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards.
- Responsible for the development and accuracy of cost reports.
- Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.
- Responsible for Cost Engineering and cost analysis/control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for discipline/projects/proposal cost activities that require a high degree of technical skilled experience.
- Mentoring of junior PCE’s in data/graphical analysis.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical field preferred.
- 6 - 9 years of experience performing, monitoring, and reviewing Cost Engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis.
- In lieu of a degree, 12 - 15 years of professional experience.
- Proficiency using Primavera P6 and COBRA software applications.
- Strong data/statistical analysis skills.
- Advanced knowledge using Power BI.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to Cost Engineering guidance to area & functions.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying and analyzing issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check education.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
- Previous WTCC or WTP work experience preferred.
