Job description

Who We Are:
SiriusXM and its brands (Pandora, SXM Media, AdsWizz, Simplecast, and SiriusXM Connected Vehicle Services) are leading a new era of audio entertainment and services by delivering the most compelling subscription and ad-supported audio entertainment experience for listeners -- in the car, at home, and anywhere on the go with connected devices. Our vision is to shape the future of audio, where everyone can be effortlessly connected to the voices, stories and music they love wherever they are.
This is the place where a diverse group of emerging talent and legends alike come to share authentic and purposeful songs, stories, sounds and insights through some of the best programming and technology in the world. Our critically-acclaimed, industry-leading audio entertainment encompasses music, sports, comedy, news, talk, live events, and podcasting. No matter their individual role, each of our employees plays a vital part in bringing SiriusXM's vision to life every day.
SiriusXM is the leading audio entertainment company in North America, and the premier programmer and platform for subscription and digital advertising-supported audio products. SiriusXM's platforms collectively reach approximately 150 million listeners, the largest digital audio audience across paid and free tiers in North America, and deliver music, sports, talk, news, comedy, entertainment and podcasts. Pandora, a subsidiary of SiriusXM, is the largest ad-supported audio entertainment streaming service in the U.S. SiriusXM's subsidiaries Stitcher, Simplecast and AdsWizz make it a leader in podcast hosting, production, distribution, analytics and monetization. The Company's advertising sales organization, which operates as SXM Media, leverages its scale, cross-platform sales organization and ad tech capabilities to deliver results for audio creators and advertisers. SiriusXM, through Sirius XM Canada Holdings, Inc., also offers satellite radio and audio entertainment in Canada. In addition to its audio entertainment businesses, SiriusXM offers connected vehicle services to automakers.
How you'll make an impact:
As a Senior Product Designer you'll create and continuously improve experiences across the customer lifecycle, enabling customers to purchase and manage their subscriptions online and in the app. Driven by performance metrics such as conversion and throughput, you'll ensure that experiences are useful, usable and delightful while balancing the need to adhere to our design system with the desire to innovate. You will be owning the initiatives and contributing to the presentation of intuitive commerce and account management recommendations strategies throughout the entire user lifecycle at multiple points of the SiriusXM product. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, Researchers and Data Scientists, whilst gathering input and strategy from Marketing and Brand partners to deliver outstanding experiences and solutions.
What you'll do:
  • Contribute and develop strategies to improve conversion and customer satisfaction by understanding our users and their needs within the SiriusXM ecosystem across multiple platforms (mobile, tablet, and web).
  • Serve as a thought leader in commerce, account and identity space, identifying open-ended opportunities into meaningful next steps, advocating for best practices and sharing learnings across the organization.
  • Present design concepts to team leadership and external partners, leveraging available data and research to justify recommendations.
  • Flexibility to contribute to neighboring discovery-oriented feature areas/projects.
  • Rapidly and thoroughly produce multiple concepts and high-fidelity prototypes, understanding when deeper exploration is warranted and when it is best to change paths and try another approach.
  • Effectively communicate changes, considering the internal SXM design team, to assess and inform updates across similar feature areas with thoroughness and thoughtfulness - we are building an ecosystem together.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Content, Research, Data Analytics and Product Management teams to deliver best-in-class features and experiences.
  • Be a great design team member - we make each other better designers by mentoring, providing and being receptive to feedback, asking the right questions, and recognizing we each bring unique and valuable perspectives to the team.
  • Share our passions (music or otherwise) with our teammates. It's certainly not a requirement to be obsessed with music but many of us are and we love beginning meetings with "walk-up songs" and discussing our favorite new releases. Others on the team regularly share their love of video games, the outdoors, local food scenes, and more.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in a design or tech-related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with the product design, development, and execution process - demonstrable via design portfolio, use cases, in-market products, etc. Portfolios should highlight challenges you faced, how you collaborated with others, what you learned, and the personal/business/end-user impact of your work.
  • 2+ years of experience working in e-commerce or in other spaces where designing for complex use cases and requirements were the norm.
  • A solid understanding of accessibility on the web and how to ensure that experiences are designed for everyone.
  • How to use motion to surprise and delight.
  • Expert-level skills with current UX Design tools (we use Figma but we can ramp you up if you currently use another).
  • Although no coding is required for this role, you must have a solid understanding of general development processes and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with and comfort using project management tools (we use Jira).
  • Fluency with presentation software such as Google Slides or PowerPoint.
  • A user-centered approach to problem solving that leverages research, analytics, and empathy combined with strong design intuition and best practices.
  • An understanding of today's common design patterns (across mobile, web, desktop) and an awareness of when it's appropriate (or not) to deviate from them.
  • Commitment to professional growth and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to tailor communications to your audience.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Habit of sharing your work at all stages to leverage the expertise of those around you.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm, kindness, respect, accountability, and curiosity.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $122,500 to $140,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
Our goal at SiriusXM is to provide and maintain a work environment that fosters mutual respect, professionalism and cooperation. SiriusXM is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, alienage or citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, sex, gender identity, marital status, familial status, veteran status, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
The requirements and duties described above may be modified or waived by the Company in its sole discretion without notice.
