Senior Product Designer
4-month W2 contract (medical, dental & vision benefits offered)
Atlanta, GA – hybrid remote 3 days onsite in Smyrna/Vinings area
Position Purpose:
Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as a Sr. Product Designer leading design efforts for one or more products. Working with a driven and talented team, you'll play a key role to design and build products for the customer of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts distribution companies.
The Senior Product Designer will play a pivotal role in driving the design strategy and execution. As an integral part of the UX Design & Research team, you will use your extensive UX/UI design knowledge and experience to create user-centric, engaging, and effective designs that provide a seamless user experience. Your work will directly influence the way our customers interact with our products and services, helping to drive customer satisfaction, increase user engagement and contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in all phases of product design from ideation, conceptual design, prototyping, to testing and implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, ux research and other designers to ensure a smooth, research-driven product development process.
- Develop and maintain design wireframes, mockups, and specifications as needed.
- Understand user needs and motivations through user research, usability testing, and data analysis, translating these into design solutions.
- Create intuitive, efficient, and effective user interfaces with a high attention to detail.
- Effectively communicate and present design ideas, concepts, and details to stakeholders.
- Champion the importance of user-centric design across the organization and influence product strategy with a deep understanding of our customer's needs.
- Utilize and contribute to the design system.
- Keep abreast of the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree (alt bootcamp) in Graphic Design, HCI, HCD, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience or/and Master’s degree.
- Understanding and application of User-Centered Design (UCD), Information Architecture (IA), Interaction Design, Usability Testing, Accessibility, and core concepts of User Psychology.
- Proven ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications, demonstrating the effectiveness of your design solutions.
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and process.
- Proficient in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision.
- Experience working with a modern design system.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A passion for creating user-centered digital experiences.
- Experience working in a functioning agile software development environment.
- Experience working in design for ecommerce, retail and/or supply chain.
- Knowledge of front-end coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a bonus, but not required.
The hourly pay range for this position is $60.00 to $70.00/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
