Whole Foods Market is seeking a Senior Pricing Strategy Analyst who is ambitious with a solid mix of analytic and communication skills. An ideal candidate likes to think outside the box, can extract themes and stories from patterns in data, has experience carrying a project from start to finish, and is comfortable presenting to senior leadership. This position will play a critical role in managing the Pricing Strategy at WFM. The Sr Analyst is responsible for supporting pricing initiatives by building strategic frameworks, identifying business trends and opportunities, and creating price investment strategies to deliver on financial targets. This role will collaborate across the organization to ensure the strategies developed meet the needs of each division.
Location: This hybrid position is based in Austin, TX and will require a minimum of three days per week in our downtown offices.
Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with project teams serving as a subject matter expert on Pricing Strategy analysis and processes.
- Engage with leadership to define analytical requirements associated with new pricing and promotion strategies.
- Lead multiple high-impact projects from concept to implementation, ensuring smooth handoffs to teams responsible for execution.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to assess pricing opportunities, evaluate financial performance, and measure the impact of strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate trade-offs between competing opportunities and producing compelling arguments for the best recommendation.
- Understand changes to the marketplace and industry and how that impacts WFM.
- Coalesce information across multiple reports to provide holistic updates to leadership.
Skills:
- Proven ability to take complex business analyses and projects from concept to completion and make results accessible and relevant to business users at all levels.
- Experience giving presentations to large audiences and senior leadership.
- Must know SQL and be comfortable accessing and retrieving data from relational databases.
- Advanced to expert skills in one or more data analysis applications/languages (MS Excel, Alteryx, R, Python).
- Demonstrates advanced interpersonal communication skills and levels of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
- Communicates effectively with all types of audiences, internally and externally.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to support strategic decision-making.
- Models WFM principles and core values.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in pricing, finance, or related field
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Advanced degree is a plus
- Has a background in retail pricing and/or strategy
