Come join the State Parks team as a Senior Park Aide(seasonal) in the beautiful Oceano Dunes District. The reporting location for this position is Oceano Dunes District Visitor Center, 555 Pier Ave, Oceano, CA 93445.
This position will work under the supervision of State Park Interpreter III. This position will assist with creating and delivering interpretive and educational programming within the district and community. Communication methods may include social media, YouTube, traditional park programing and staffing the visitor center. A Department and district approved uniform is required to be worn during work hours. Work hours will vary and may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants should have the following qualities: Ability to stand for prolonged periods; work under varied weather conditions; effectively communicate with visitors and other park staff; operate a computer and have basic understanding of Zoom or other video communication platforms; willingness to learn how to operate an off-highway vehicle; desire to learn about the natural, cultural and recreational history of Pismo State Beach and Oceano Dunes SVRA and to share this knowledge with the general public.
This position requires a valid California Class " C " Driver's license.
