As a Senior Operations Director for Lubrizol Life Sciences (LLS), you'll be responsible for leading multiple global manufacturing facilities of LLS Business to support business strategy, execute the operations strategy, manage the operations performance objectives, and lead the LLS Operations organization.
In this role, you will be hands on and should have progressive experience in chemical, material, mechanical, assembly or other industrial assembly, and medical device production environment. You'll lead operations performance improvement and critical projects, and work collaboratively across a large variety of functions to drive results.
This is a globally focused position, with 4 sites in the US, 2 sites in Europe, and 2 sites in Asia Pacific. You will support business revenue and the annual operations budget, so previous experience working with budgets and global leadership is a plus.
What You'll Do:
Drive and improve the performance of Lubrizol Life Science global operations through:
- Health, Safety, and Environment focuses: Safety Incident rates, Environmental violation cases, Risk reduction closures, Human Performance Indicator engagement rates.
- Production: Production schedule compliance.
- Delivery (Joint with Supply chain): On time deliver as promised; On time delivery as requested.
- Quality: Product Quality complaints; Manufacturing Non-conforming material rate.
- Equipment: On time completion; Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Finance: Operations Expense, Capital expense.
- Projects: Execution on time, quality, within budget.
- People: Headcount management, talent review, organization development, engagement.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, material, or relevant engineering field. Advanced degree in engineering or MBA is a plus.
- 15+ years of manufacturing leadership in chemical, industry parts, assembly, or other relevant industry.
- Career progression in manufacturing or engineering functions, from production, engineering, to plant management, or multi-site plant management roles.
- Experience in driving team development and performance, ensuring a high level of employee engagement.
- Demonstrated success delivering results in a matrix organization.
- Excellent communication and networking skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, as well as facilitation experience.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, “high energy”, team-oriented environment.
- Cross culture and international experience preferred.
Considered a Plus:
- Experience in large multinational environment and working globally.
- Experience with polymers, resins, specialty chemicals, assembly, industry parts, medical devices.
- Experience at managing assembly workshop with labor intensive production environment.
- Experience at inspiring/leading large teams.
