Job description

OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Marketing Operations Director to join our team and play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies that enhance the efficiency, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making capabilities of our marketing function. As an integral member of the marketing team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and achieving COSI's strategic goals through effective operations management and partnership cultivation.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing Operations or a similar role.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage marketing processes and workflows.
  • Expertise in marketing data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple facets of media, including digital, TV, print, and radio.
  • Strong understanding of Marketing performance measurement principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and partnership management skills.

ACCOUNTABILITES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:

Marketing Operations (80%):

  • Develop, implement, and manage marketing processes, workflows, and systems to streamline operations and optimize resource utilization.
  • Establish and maintain marketing data standards and ensure data integrity across all marketing channels and platforms.
  • Implement and manage marketing performance measurement dashboards and reports to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze marketing data to gain insights and inform data-driven decisions that drive business growth and strategic goal attainment.
  • Stay informed about emerging marketing technologies and trends, recommending and evaluating potential solutions to enhance Marketing Operations.
  • Work with Exhibits and Operations to ensure all exhibitions have a marketing and communications plan commensurate with financial goals.
  • Work with Exhibits and Operations, External Affairs and Strategic Partnerships, and Philanthropy to create a strategy to support marketing and communications needs for signature education and community impact programs such as COSI Science Festival; COSI Kits, Catalyst.
  • Work with Diversity, Equity and Community to ensure that DE&I values are communicated throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development of the Marketing Team, including the Director of Communications, Social Media Manager and Digital Designer & Photographer. As part of the supervisor responsibilities of this job, conduct performance evaluations in accordance with COSI procedures.

Partnership Management (20%):

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external media partners, negotiating and executing media contracts.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of media campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall marketing strategies and objectives.
  • Monitor media partner performance, providing feedback and recommendations to optimize campaign effectiveness.
  • Serve as a liaison between the internal marketing team and external media partners, fostering open communication and collaboration.
