Job Overview:
Lifeboat Accounting, PLLC is a virtual CFO boutique service catering to non-profit organizations. We are looking to bring aboard another superstar senior accountant to help us serve clients. This can be a part-time or full-time position.
Responsibilities include:
· Assisting with ongoing accounting and bookkeeping for our clients
· Completing month-end financial closing activities such as accruals, grant and indirect rate accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
· Assisting with one-off projects and cleanup projects for clients
· Ensure that all financial records and backup are accurate, organized, and up-to-date
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or at least 3-5 years of work experience
- Solid bookkeeping/double entry accounting skills and understanding of financial statements. The ability to spot when things don’t tie or look like they follow GAAP accounting is important as we work with a lot of clients with cleanup work.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including accruals, deferred revenue, grant accounting, and functional expense allocations.
- Ability to work independently and remotely while still checking in and touching base with the team on a regular basis
- Proficient in Microsoft office (excel, word) and adobe pdf
- Excellent typing and data entry and basic skills
- QuickBooks Online Certification, payroll certification, or AICPA NFP Certificate a plus
- Ability to zoom and attend meetings remotely
- Strong customer service skills
- Even though this a mostly a remote role, employees MUST reside/work in NH or VT (99% remote work with occasional in-person meetings). We are unable to accept applications from other states at this time.
