RavenTek is currently hiring a Senior Network Engineer to work remotely with occasional travel to various CONUS customer sites.
The Senior Network Engineer will provide expert-level architecture and support for the deployment of network technologies that will support our customer base. This candidate will bring their expert level of understanding of data networks, security, access points, and Comply to Connect capabilities to provide guidance and leadership to the entire effort for the customers. This is a leadership role, you will work with Government, military, and other contractors to engineer, install, test, and secure the entire technical solution(s).
Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise
- Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills are required
- Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
- Monitor network performance and integrity
- Resolve support issues as they are escalated through the support tiers by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
- Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
- Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
- Maintain technical documentation as required
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- Familiarity with access control models and network security
- Sharp troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently
- Organizational and mentoring skills
Experience and Education
- Minimum of seven (7) years in the industry as a Network Engineer and/or Network Administrator
- Understanding of IAVAs and STIGs and applying updates to routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
- Position requires a current DoD 8570 IAT II certification - CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP
- Technical Certification is required (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE)
- Knowledge of Forescout and other Comply to Connect technology is plus
- Active, in-scope US Government-issued Secret/SSBI clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, and Engineering)
Environmental Conditions
This role will be a remote position with the possibility of some travel to customer sites. The employee must be willing and able to travel to client sites as well as other locations in CONUS as required.
Physical Demands
May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
