Job Title - Senior Network Engineer

Location - Crownsville, MD (Hybrid)

Salary - $120,000 - $130,000 per annual

Contract - W2 only

Government - Must be able to go through Public trust Clearance

This position is mostly remote but will need to work onsite in Crownsville, MD from time to time depending on client needs. There will be some weeks were you'll need to go onsite 1-2 days and other weeks where you can work 100% remotely.

Summary

• Lead network and technical projects, including.
• Installation of new equipment as part of a new deployment, break/fix, or equipment refresh.
• Perform site surveys for future wired and wireless network deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network related trouble tickets.
• Lead network and other technical projects.

• Coordination with both internal and external partners as part of overall project delivery efforts.
• Provide written status updates to project management for assigned project related tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support LAN, WLAN, and WAN network infrastructure.
• Serve as technical escalation point.
• Create and maintain technical and process documentation.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure related hardware or network connectivity issues.
• Perform testing and validation of new hardware and code.
• Lead the design, test, and implementation of network proposals.
• Provide consultation support to internal and external partners for network infrastructure design and enhancements.

Education/Certification/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering related field (Preferred)
• 10 years of experience in a computer related field.
• Lead experience
• Strong design experience
• ITIL 4 Foundation (Preferred)
• JNCIP or CCNP (Required)
• Experience in production network environments.
• Experience in the configuration and deployment of Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba switches, routers, and wireless access points.
• Experience with the design, troubleshooting and configuration of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, MPLS, and Spanning Tree.
• Experience with leading the design and delivery of network projects.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with the creation and maintenance of documentation such as operating procedures and network diagrams.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with enterprise and user networks a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple assigned tasks concurrently with minimal supervision.
• Python and Ansible experience a plus.
• Previous experience with Metro Ethernet networks and infrastructure a plus.
