About the Job
As a Senior Modern Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for owning, administering, maintaining, scaling, and upgrading the desktop services and tools that provide a world-class IT experience and support EngageSmart employees. Team members in this role are familiar with all aspects of the Modern Desktop program that foster employee success in their roles. Reporting to the Manager of Modern Desktop Services, the Senior Modern Desktop Engineer will receive support, training and coaching necessary to be successful in their role. As such, they are required to work independently, develop new skills/experiences, and directly contribute to the policies/procedures that will define the future of Modern Desktop services at EngageSmart.
Position Responsibilities
- Administer, manage, scale, and upgrade MDM and IAM solutions including but not limited to Intune, Jamf, Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace
- Act as technical lead / escalation point for Modern Desktop team members
- Identify and replace manual subject matter tasks with automation using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, etc
- Take a project-based approach to tasks, focusing on solutions for everyone rather than the individual
- Lead design and maintenance of 3 rd party application catalog across PC & macOS devices
- Ensure 100% compliance with onboarding & offboarding standards for all employees as required by the Manager of Modern Desktop
- Create, update & organize internal & employee facing documentation, and provide training for Modern Desktop team members
- Work closely with the EngageSmart Security Team to report, investigate, and remediate desktop threats and vulnerabilities as required
- Participate in after-hours maintenance including tenant migrations, major releases, and other company-wide initiatives
- Other duties and responsibilities as defined by Modern Desktop leadership
Qualifications
- High school diploma, with extraordinary requisite professional experience or college degree and requisite professional experience
- 3-5 years' experience as a Support Technician/Help Desk Admin/Desktop Engineer or similar
- 3-5 years' of SaaS productivity application administration experience (Okta, M365, Google Workspace)
- 3 or more years of experience with typical desktop infrastructure
- Advanced scripting knowledge in PowerShell (Python, Terraform are a plus!)
- Experience automating internal and customer-facing tasks in Azure and Google environments
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- General understanding of networking protocols & standards
- Excellent written and verbal customer service skills

Base Compensation Range: ($98,000.00 to $115,000.00) annually
Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission and equity. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
