Job Description:
Airbus Robotics is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development department based in Mukilteo, WA.

Salary range based on the required profile: $127,000-$149,000/year.

Your challenges:
- Design, Prototype, and Test
- Formulate innovative conceptual designs and evolve them into final designs to meet customer requirements.
- Fabricate, modify, and test robotic and automated assembly prototypes.
- Work with Software, Electrical, System Engineers and Project Management to ensure a successful product lifecycle.
- Performs hands-on work in a lab environment.
- Troubleshoot
- Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field engineers and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the problem.
- Project Manage and Document
- Crafts project plans, setting goals/target specs, and KPIs. Owns the quality of execution, iteration speed, quality of the decision-making, and quality of the results (as appropriate) of projects. Leads projects and is responsible for technical leadership within projects. Consistently and successfully delegates work and divides up complex tasks for project teams.
Your boarding pass:
- Fifteen or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree. Thirteen or more years of experience with a Master’s Degree. Eleven or more years of experience with a PhD.
- Experience working with power tools, hand tools, and machine shop equipment is a must.
- Hands-on experience working with electric motors, gears, seals, springs, and fasteners is a must.
- Experience designing mechanisms
- Experience with mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Finite Element Analysis and modeling tools, pneumatics, linear guides, ball screws, and position sensors.
